Antigua Sailing Week 2024

This year’s Antigua Sailing Week began on April 27th and ran through May 3rd. The weather was a mix of conditions from one almost windstill morning to strong winds and waves that put the boats and the crews through their paces. Our crew aboard the committee boat “A” consisted of:

It feels a bit like the scene from the Blues Brothers movie where “we’re putting the band back together”. While none of us has been incarcerated, we haven’t met up since last year.

The event is a weeklong one with one race prior to the official event, then a total of 5 racing days. There’s a lay day in the middle on Wednesday to give the volunteers time to catch their breath. And for the competitors to either detox or to continue partying. I suspect more did the latter than the former on that day. The table below contains links to the individual daily blog entries, each of which has pictures from that day.
