Sunrise

I woke early and enjoyed some of the last of my German coffee. The vacuum sealer does a great job at keeping the beans fresh; they still have a bit of an effervescence during the bloom phase.

After caffeination, I went back to the toilet repair job. The water I’d put in the bowl hadn’t leaked, so I went ahead and put everything back together and wired up the electric system. It now works!
The next step is to attach a manual toggle switch to replace the foot shower sump, which isn’t working properly. Either the manual pneumatic switch or the timed relay (for which I cannot find a local replacement) is broken. Since this is a boat, most likely both are defective.
Morning
My first foray into the depths of the shower sump’s electrics wasn’t successful. I couldn’t get the pneumatic switch to work; it seems to always be “on” now. Looking at the shower setup showed me that putting a switch near the wiring isn’t an optimal location. The switch would be outside of the shower enclosure, making it hard to drain while still taking a shower.
My solution was to make another cup of coffee and contemplate how to proceed. I don’t want to drill a hole in the panels unnecessarily. But I’d like to get the shower operational for my guests.
Noon and later

The yacht Thendara needed help at 10:00, rather than 11:00, so I was interrupted in the middle of my repair work. Getting that heavy boat across the bay took a very long time. Once finished with towing/pushing, it was time to head to the other dock and do some dinghy work with the classic yachts. It was a bit of a mess coordinating the dinghies, and I came very close to quitting – I’d been doing nothing for an hour, whenever I approached a boat to help, other volunteers would zip by me at speed and usurp my slot – leaving me feeling like an unwanted fifth wheel.
Happy Hour

The stage was set, and a duo was playing oldies for the crowd, and the volunteers all enjoyed free libations during the initial hour. I sat and talked with numerous sailors until it was too late for dinner. I headed back to Zanshin and had some light snacks to eat before retiring for the evening.
