This year’s event sees the traditional Antigua Sailing Week split into two distinct events, each with its own character. The pure racing portion is now the Antigua Racing Cup, and the event returns to the original style, with different venues each day. The fleet is split into two divisions: one for classic racing and the other for cruising boats. The fleets would all depart from one anchorage in the morning and have another location for the destination, completing a counterclockwise circumnavigation of Antigua in the process.
Day 1 – English Harbour to Green Island
The first day had light winds, perfect weather for beating to windward towards the protected anchorage at Green Island.
Day 2 – Green Island to Little Jumby, “The Hut”
From the northeast tip of Antigua to the northwest part, today was a downhill run all day in light conditions.
Day 3 – Little Jumby to Ffryes Beach
Around the northwestern corner of Antigua, today saw varied conditions, with some stronger winds and, unfortunately for some, a large region with no winds…
Day 4 – Ffryes back to English Harbour
The final day had the strongest winds and biggest waves of the event, as the racers stayed outside of Cades Reef and beat back up to English Harbour for the final finish and final party of the regatta
