Commissioning the new Zanshin by Bay Yacht Sales in Annapolis

Commissioning Zanshin.

September 9, 2011

The factory tour in July was my first glimpse of Zanshin and the subsequent wait for her to be completed and shipped to the USA for commissioning and delivery was a long one, but she has finally arrived and has been placed into the yard on the hard. A lot of work lies ahead for the commissioning crew since she has to be partially ready and presentable for the Annapolis Boat Show in early October.

This is the only picture I have from this past week. Due to rainy and inclement weather, the painting of the hull took longer than expected and the commissioning process is somewhat behind schedule – the vessel needs to be presentable (but not necessarily functional) for the Annapolis Boat Show in October

Two pictures taken just after the Awlgrip work on Zanshin was completed and the covers removed.

Mark sent these pictures from the commissioning process showing the nice “Champagne” Awlgrip colour and the mast stepped as well as the bimini and dodger being mounted / fitted.

Commissioning pictures from Mark.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
