2014 Trip 2014-05-04

Today I joined the ranks of boats leaving Falmouth Harbour. I dinghied ashore, walked from Falmouth to Nelson’s Dockyard in English Harbour and cleared out of Antigua (for the following day) with destination St. Martin. I had to pay a mooring fee for Falmouth and exit fees but I’d used the eSeaClear system online before going to customs so the forms were printed out quickly and I signed all the copies instead of having to fill them out many times. There wasn’t much going on since most boats had left and even fewer were expected to clear in and the cashier had to be called on the phone so that she would come into the office and so that I could complete clearance.

I had a nice downwind and crosswind sail to my overnight anchorage destination at Deep Bay and arrived in time to finish anchoring just as the sun set. A light dinner and sundowners later I watched a movie (I’m still working my way through the collection from Rocking B) and then sat on the deck looking at the stars until it was time to sleep.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
