2013 Trip 2013-04-05

Today was departure day for my guests. We rented a car in the morning, mainly for the trip to the airport later in the day, and my guests used it one last time to head off to a local beach for some last sun before their return to home, where the weather reports showed temperatures around freezing but no snow left on the ground. The majority of the day was spent packing (one of the bags had deceased on the trip here and it’s contents needed to be redistributed) and also cleaning the forward cabins and heads and before we knew it the time for departure had arrived. The new rental car was a Renault which, at first glance, seemed little larger than the previous midget vehicle, but the trunk had more space and the engine was also more powerful, allowing us to travel to the airport in relative comfort and safety.
After the farewells at the airport I was approached by two gents, one of whom looked familiar and turned out to be the skipper of the steel training boat next to us at the previous marina visit, he was returning to France and asked if I could take the other gent, the new skipper, back to the marina; it is a small world sometimes!

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
