Another typical St. Martin day for me – going shopping for little (but expensive) bits and things for the boat. I did get some staple supplies at the Cost-U-Less on the Dutch side (water & beer & nuts), but the groceries are going to be purchased tomorrow morning before I return the rental car and return to 100% boat life again. The Heineken Regatta began today, with one of the big contested races that which had Island Waterworld competing against Budget Marine. They are both racing a Melges raceboat and it is a matter of prestige who might win. At Budge Marine I was told their boat would probably do better in stronger winds, but the Island Waterworld boat is lighter and would have an advantage if the winds settle, which my WindGuru forecast had predicted. I’ll find out tonight at the Port-de-Plaisance party.

Original hosting provider breaks my old website

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
