Morning

The tasty coffee from Carib Bean gets me going after waking up, and I discovered a bag of muesli that one of my guests had left aboard, which I’m slowly working my way through.
I had my morning meetings using Teams at work and then did some additional online work until the workday ended for me at noon.
Noon

I’ve noticed an issue with my D850 camera in the past couple of days. When I press the release, the mirror flips up as expected, but then there is a noticeable delay before the mirror goes down again. This usually happens when the shutter speed is slow, but it is now happening even at 2000ths of a second. I’m going to have to go through the settings to see what I might have inadvertently changed. At least the pictures are still turning out OK.
After a bit of searching through the extensive menus on the D850, I found the Exposure Delay Mode setting, which I must have inadvertently set to 0.2 seconds instead of leaving it at the default 0 setting. It is used to let the minimal vibrations from the mirror flipping up dissipate for that period of time before taking the actual picture.
Alternator
I am still trying to source the replacement alternator. I’ve found a place in the USA at an acceptable price. It can be shipped to Florida, where Four Star Cargo will ship it to St. Martin for me. But there are other alternators that I’m looking at, made by Balmar and Mastervolt, that are probably better suited. But I don’t know about how they fit in the pre-drilled holes on the mounting bracket.

I’ve had the air conditioning running since I docked two days ago, and I turned off the bilge pumps so I could “wash” the bilge with condensate mixed with a bit of Pine-Sol. I just took a look at the main bilge and was surprised at how much moisture had collected.
Happy Hour Aboard

Thanks to Scott, I had a can of Paulaner Hefeweizen sitting in the fridge, waiting for the appropriate moment. That moment has arrived! It went into my insulated mug, but that mug didn’t have a chance to keep the beer cold, as I quaffed it very quickly.
Please Wait
I might have to change my travel plans at short notice, and have a question for my airline, Condor. Their website recommends using WhatsApp rather than the normal telephone hotline to save time. I believe that the German text to the right requires no translation… What is the wait time on the normal support line?
Afternoon
It is hot below decks, despite the A/C running in the main salon. The little unit in the master bedroom is doing much better, but it has much less volume to cool, and it is also shaded back there. I can’t play music, nor can I go forward to clean up. That might mean that I miss the return answer from Condor, and I’ve already been waiting an hour and a half.
Update
After 2 1/2 hours, I finally got action. The response said, “Please give me a moment to read your issue”. Then, for 15 minutes, nothing happened. Only once I wrote that I didn’t consider 15 minutes to be a “moment” did I get an answer. It said I should log in to the website and do the booking change. But my description said I was logged in, and the screens had no option to make this change… Then, after another 5-minute silence, I was told that they would make an exception and book the change online, and they would charge my credit card for it. Sigh, now they are doing me a favor by allowing me to pay them extra for a service. No wonder that the Trustpilot average for Condor customer service is less than 1 on a scale of 1-5.
Fuel Transfer

My main tank has only 1/4 left, and my second tank is full. I tried to use my digital panel to transfer the fuel, but that seems to have expired during storage, along with many other items. This is not a major issue, since I can jumper the pump directly. I just have to monitor the tanks to prevent an overflow of the main tank.
Dinner
I’m behind on my tasks and want to head out to the beach tomorrow, so I’ll skip going to the Club Sushi Quiz Night and remain aboard and check off some open tasks. I’ve still got pasta and some of my own Bolognese Sauce. I’ve got no Parmesan, but I’ll try to make do with some melted Swiss cheese.
I saw that I still had some hot dogs, so I cooked them. I fried some buns and added the melted Swiss to make a filling meal.
