Sunrise
I’d taken part of the last week off from work, and today was my first full day back in the virtual office. I paid the price for slacking off; I had a full complement of backlogged work to catch up on.
I left my desk (the navigation station) only twice before noon: once to look outside and another time to make my second large cup of coffee.
Lunch & early afternoon
I made an impromptu lunch from ingredients in the fridge that are in danger of expiring before I can consume them, then returned to work. I’ve got a whole list of important boat jobs to take care of that are weighing on my mind, but at the moment, I’ve got other higher priorities.
Not quite so happy hour

It is past 4 PM now, and I’ve got to call it a day in the remote office and start boat work. The first important task is to check the large 24V alternator to see whether it is really “dead” or if the electrical problems might lie elsewhere.
As I’d feared, I couldn’t detect any issues outside of the alternator – no fuses that had blown and could be easily replaced, no loose connections that needed tightening, and no corroded fittings, either. That means I have to source a new alternator…
Dinner
I have some ingredients in the fridge that need to be used before their use-by dates, so I made some spaghetti with pasta sauce for a simple (and very spicy) meal aboard.
