2022-04-14 Bimini and Sunglasses

Zanshin is now almost ready with the Bimini finally offering some shadeZanshin is now almost ready with the Bimini finally offering some shade. Ray assisted me in getting the Bimini cover up in the morning. Despite the gusty winds we managed to get the job done in short order.

It is surprising how much difference to the internal cabin temperature that this makes. I’ll get the dodger put up myself, as the single pieces are much smaller and easier to manage.

I finally managed to stop at the glasses store in the mall when it was open. They curtailed their opening hours due to COVID-19. The cheap sunglasses that they had were just that – falling apart before purchase.  So I ended up getting some quality shades from Maui Jim. I hope that they’ll last if I take good care of them.

I’m still staying at the Soco House resort. Despite doing home-office work the day ended early at the bar with the few other hotel guests and the a-la-carte dinner was quite tasty and filling.

Tomorrow will be nice aboard, with the Bimini finally offering some shade to cool me down. The sun isn’t as brutal as it will be in the summer. Yet it still burns down, and it takes a while acclimate to the tropical climate.
