Arnd

Today is a semi-holiday in the United States, it marks Martin Luther King Day but unlike in Germany many stores and businesses are open. I had planned on taking another day off work and visiting Jamestown and Yorktown, but it was so cold that opted to stay aboard. I was dressed for winter and the heating system had no chance to keep interior temperatures warm. I am so happy to be able to head into the clubhouse in the afternoons and taking a nice hot Finnish sauna to get the chill out. I worked for hours trying to sort out the NMEA wiring with no success. This is wiring that sends a signal from the GPS device to things like my SSB and VHF Radio so that they have position data. This is important when sending a DSC message on the radio or when hitting the “PANIC” button as it will automatically send the current position along with the distress message.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
