Arnd

Today marked Day 3 of the Antigua Sailing Week and the conditions were excellent for a hard day of racing with somewhat big swells and strong trade winds. Just as on the previous day, we did 2 races for all the classes except the club class (who had requested only one race a day) and we could see that the competitors were getting more aggressive before and during the starting sequences. We had one rear-end collision on the start line and since I’d made the mistake of catching a picture shortly after the collision I ended up getting pulled into the protest room after the races to show the picture and then ended up having to give testimony regarding what I’d seen during the event; as I was also helping Steve sight the start line and had a front row position.

Apart from some shouting and gesticulation at the start and several boats retiring from the races due to various reasons (equipment failure, for the most part) it went quite well from our perspective and judging from the cheers and waves on the finish lines it would seem that the racers had a good day as well.

The big party of the night was “Reggae in the Park” with Damian Marley but I wasn’t able to stay awake long enough to see/hear him as his act didn’t get on stage until midnight.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
