The north swell managed to get into Anse Colombier as well, and I was awake shortly before dawn and got underway as the sun was coming up over the horizon. I’d feared that light winds would mean that I’d be motoring a large part of the way, but I had good winds and averaged over 7 knots the whole way to Deep Bay on Antigua, which I arrived in good time to anchor and prepare a fine meal! It was a mixed trip across with some sunshine but most of the time it was overcast and for a good 20 miles it was raining. During one of those rainy periods I discerned a set of grey sails just on the edge of my vision and I checked my AIS and radar and saw the blips. While the boat wasn’t broadcasting a name on AIS, it was doing 28-30 knots so it could only have been Phaedo III and I later found out they were on their way from Antigua to Bermuda in order to set a timing run for next year’s race.

2016 Trip 2016-04-20
My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.
Every. Single. Page.
So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.
The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
