While lowering the swim platform in Friar’s Bay after a short run up to Grand Case (for internet access) I heard a crack and realized I’d forgotten to raise the ladder. I remedied the situation and got the platform lowered and attached the water level ladder, then took out the paddle board. Upon climbing up the short aft ladder I noticed something was wrong but couldn’t place the problem at first; then realized that one of the steps was broken in half and that the missing piece was nowhere in sight! This happened a good 10 minutes after the accident, so I wasn’t too optimistic about finding the missing teak section but got into the dinghy anyway and zipped out in the direction I thought that the wind and current would take it. No luck… so I dinghied back slowly and, much to my surprise, found it floating around in the waves about half of the distance that I’d guesstimated. After drying out and cleaning it, I got out some wood glue and pressed the two pieces together using cable ties and I’ll have to see how it holds up once the glue has dried.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
