2016 Trip 2016-02-23

I got some sailing done today, going uphill from Friar’s Bay all the way to Île Tintamarre for the day and then returning to my spot at Friar’s Bay for the evening. The waves were up, so I didn’t do any diving at Tintamarre but just relaxed and watched the other boat’s antics in picking up moorings. The parks department had replaced the line of mooring balls that had been missing the season before (after having been destroyed by Hurricane Hugo in the off season); the French system uses very short lines so one has to either have a very low freeboard or stop the boat right above the mooring ball in order to capture one and the charter guests didn’t have a feel for their boats yet so it was a bit of fun (malicious fun, of course) watching.

I replaced the water filters for the watermaker and tried to clean the old ones, but they were so badly clogged that I ended up throwing them away. After that bit of maintenance I sailed back to Friar’s Bay and grilled up some burgers for dinner.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
