The day was so pretty that I made an on-the-spot decision to stay in the anchorage one more day. I worked on programming the Arduino for 3-axis measurement; the little chip that is used in smartphones, tablets and in gaming sensor to detect tilt angles and acceleration. I have to admit that while I got the device working and reading on the x, y and z axis (yaw, pitch, roll from flying days) the math for converting the gravity readings into angles was very, very complex and I haven’t worked with sets and trigonometric functions in many years so I am going to go slowly with that.
