2015 Trip 2015-05-05

Enfin! I’ve finally finished pruning, selecting, editing, categorizing and uploading all of the pictures from the sailing week today. I spent a big part of the day below decks, never going ashore and only taking the occasional dip in the water to cool off. I still need to catch up on the daily blog and other pages, but that can wait until tomorrow or the day after.

The winds and waves, which had been settled over the past days, have picked up and the weather report shows gusting 20 knots and 2 meter swell out there, almost all of the swell is broken up by the reef and the wind is ameliorated by Green Island so the anchorage remains a good one.

I’m firing up the BBQ tonight for my final steak (I’m working my way down the supplies) and will make some jasmine rice to go along with it. I wish I’d gotten more potatoes as I ran out last week and haven’t restocked.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
