2015 Trip 2015-04-15

The day began with bacon, eggs & fried bread and we didn’t get going until around noon, setting full sails for the first time for the fast passage back to St. Martin. As we rounded the headland we saw part of the Les Voiles de St. Barths regatta fleet coming right at us from the direction we were headed. I opted to avoid the majority of the fleet and not to steal any of their wind by remaining somewhat downwind of the racers, so we didn’t get to see the upwind sides of the boats with all the competitors on the railings, but it was still an impressive spectacle to see these specialist racers at work.

Our sail was spirited as well, we rarely went under 9 knots and although we never broke 10 knots it was a very fast sail back. Once we turned the corner of St. Martin opposite from Tintamarre the winds died but we were soon back in the Grand Case bay and safely anchored.

My friends debarked with their belongings and we met up later for a final sun downer aboard Zanshin before heading to the Grand Case docks for the short walk to Calmos Café where we had a big dinner on the final night.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
