2015 Trip 2015-03-27

My original plans today were to do my provisioning and the depart the lagoon, but I didn’t complete my tasks in time for the last bridge departure. I made a total of 3 shopping trips, the first was to get general commodities at the small Chinese place close to Lagoonie’s. The next trip ashore was to the same dock, but this time to the bigger supermarket called Le Grand Marché for items not carried by the Chinese store. The final trip was for cheeses and cold-cuts and fresh vegetables, but I didn’t want to go all the way to the big Le Grand Marché so I tried the Garden Market but their selection (and prices) couldn’t compare yet since I’d walked all the way there I did most of the rest of my provisioning there. Since I’m heading over the French side of the island I’ll have enough opportunity there to do my specialty shopping.

The task of fixing the leak in the head took a lot longer than I expected. I took the head macerator off and replaced the O-ring, the first time I put it back together I hadn’t seated the O-ring correctly and that was a major leak, the second time I replaced the unit it leaked less, but it was still leaking. In the end I took the macerator pump apart and found a broken seal in the motor mount, which was part of the service kit that I’d purchased. So I replaced that and put the unit back together and that seems to have solved the issue.

For dinner I joined Mark and we went to the steak restaurant at Palapa Marina, it has become very upscale but it was also an excellent steak.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
