2014 Trip 2014-05-28

After putting in a full day at the office, I had to get the boat underway and do the 20+ mile trip downwind to Diamond Cay on Jost van Dyke. I’d received some e-mails from Warren about his CO detector going off during the night, most likely triggered by some outgassing of the batteries during charging. This means that, despite careful computation and monitoring while I was aboard, we had set the values too high. As Warren didn’t have a PC along I had to bring mine along in order to run the software to set the values. I’d wanted to relocate anyway, but the conditions weren’t really nice with heavy overcast and lots of rain, but it was only a couple of hours sail. I hope that Diamond Cay has good internet connectivity, as tomorrow is an important day at “the office”.

I joined the crowds at the B-Line bar on Little Jost for happy hour and made a burger dinner aboard after returning from the bar and re-setting the Victron on Aria.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
