Workday again! Working from “home” on the boat is actually quite nice. I get up and start work early in the morning, mainly due to the time difference with my European customer, then by 15:00 I am free and can enjoy some sunshine before the day draws to a close. There’s no commute time, no need to get dressed up or even to shave before hitting the keyboard and logging in to the secure site. But it is a rather strange sensation to be on the boat, which is the symbol of freedom, and be bound to such things as time schedules and meetings!

After work today I did some work on the boat including finally splicing my black dinghy towline and then joined the crew of Aria at Saba Rock for some conversation and sundowners. Dinner was some thawed out burgers served on toasted baguettes, since I’m out of bread and had to thaw the baguette.

Original hosting provider breaks my old website

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every. Single. Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
