2014 Trip 2014-05-07

I woke up far too early this morning and finally got around to doing some long-postponed chores aboard. I defrosted the freezer and put in the insulation material I’d purchased yesterday, then started defrosting the fridge but since I can’t reach the evaporator plates with warm water I will need the ambient air to do that, so I am finally taking the time to play catch up on my blog entries for the past week. Once the insulation was fitted I restocked the fridge and freezer with the items I’d removed and put in thermal plastic bags and hope that my significant energy drain from the two units will finally go down. The remaining insulation material will go on top the two hatches – to keep the heat from slowly draining in.

I decided to leave tomorrow morning, after getting fresh baguettes from the baker; so I left the dinghy engine mounted and went ashore for dinner and drinks; but the restaurant I wanted to try was unfortunately closed this evening so I ended up at my accustomed seat at Calmos Caf€ and had a full meal there while looking at the boats in the anchorage.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
