2013 Trip 2013-03-02

Today was a work day aboard the boat; I decided to finally put in the cabinet liners that I’d purchased to prevent stuff from sliding all around during heavy weather. I didn’t realize how much time it would take to measure and cut the liners, then remove the cabinet contents, clean up and then put everything back after placing the liners.
During the breaks I’d go topside and see the distant raceboats from the Heineken Regatta 2013 head towards Anguilla and I had the radio tuned to FM 92 which did a lot of live broadcasts from boats, chase boats, and various locations on the island and generally provided excellent coverage of the event.
The wind was very, very light but enough came through the anchorage to make staying below decks acceptable and I managed to get a lot of stuff done. In addition to the liners and general cleaning, I re-arranged the galley storage to make things more accessible and easier to use. I finally got around to checking out the Magma BBQ and managed to use penetrating/dissolving oils to open up the valve and fix the underheating issues that had been plagueing me this year and prevent BBQ use.
The LED lighting also got partially completed; I’ve got about 1/4 of the lumens installed and it is bright enough already. Next I’ve got to run the wires through the conduits to make a permanent installation. I used the GoPro camera’s timed feature and have added a video to this page showing the sunset and LED lighting.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
