While Desi and Agathe went to their big day of diving for the PADI scuba Open Water certification I stayed aboard and cleaned up a bit in the very windy and wavy conditions in the harbour. They had two dives planned, one in the morning and another in the afternoon to learn the underwater skills required for the Open Water certification and then, to cap it off, they had to take the written examination in order to finally get their certification.
I headed over to the dive centre after I saw the boat zoom by and saw a number of guests but no Agathe and no Desi – I asked if they’d been lost on the way and was told that they had indeed returned but were doing the final swim tests at the beach and when they returned I could see that they were tired from the strenuous day’s work but elated, and once they’d done their written examination they were truly happy!
We headed back to the boat, had a celebratory bottle of bubbly and subsequently headed to Calmos Café for dinner (which we didn’t have) and drink (which we did). Stu came by and we left the bar just after 2am and returned, on somewhat wobbly legs, to the boat.
