Winter 2011-2012 Trip 2012-02-29

The morning started off with fine breakfast omelettes with OJ and coffee to provide a solid foundation for the ladies’ diving. We took a short but necessary detour to the Ma Dou Dou store/factory by car on the way to the dive shop and stocked up on tasty spiced rum in colourful bottles.
I dropped the two off for their dive and then proceeded to attempt to get my camera underwater setup for the zoom lens working, but that took almost an hour because it just didn’t want to work; then I went to Rocher Créole for a test dive and was disappointed when the camera didn’t focus (I think I hit the “manual” focus switch when I put the camera into the housing) and kept the dive quite short. I headed to the beach in front of Octopus diving and watched another class where they were practicing pulling dead weight unconscious divers from the water which looked rather strenuous. I unloaded the dinghy and turned it around in order to clean the bottom, which had half of a kelp and seaweed forest growing on it (again). The timing fit as Desi and Agathe came out of the water with their instructor just as I’d completed. The exhausted ladies and I headed back to the boat, had a happy hour libation and made a BBQ steak and potatoes simple dinner and, before we knew it, we were off in bed. The alarms had to be set for the first time, as they needed to get to their class before 8am.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
