Arnd

Winter 2011-2012 Trip 2012-01-25

As Wolfgang’s last day we decided to once again sail upwind to Île Tintamarre to get some real sailing time into Wolfgang’s logbook and from there sail to Marigot for Wolfgang’s last night. The upwind sail went very well, with good average speeds and our tacks were well-coordinated. I was somewhat hung over from the night before and was glad that Wolfgang was doing most of the work. At Tintamarre we saw a pod of dolphins and once again fed the small fish that hid underneath the boat; I call them St. Martin piranhas because in their feeding frenzy they can strip down a chunk of bread to nothing in mere seconds.
On the sail back to Marigot we got to go wing-on-wing and managed to break the 10 knot barrier for the first time as some stronger winds hit us from behind.
We rented a car for the night and next day and visited Barnacles’ happy hour prior to having dinner on the Dutch side and returning to the very rolly boat for a nightcap and then sleep.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
