I only did 3 out of 4 winches yesterday so started the day early with the final winch and finished that by 10am, now I need a break and then comes the really difficult part of cleaning up all the black grease remains from my major spill yesterday. That will probably take much of the day and I’ll combine the cleaning work with a fibreglass re waxing of the cockpit and will probably need quite a bit of the rubbing compound that I’ve got on board. I don’t know what I’ll do to fix up the teak, as I’m leery of using mineral spirits on the deck planks directly. It took me more effort to clean up after myself than to do the winch work; I ended up using rubbing compound and waxing the cockpit area and table, and haven’t got any interesting pictures to post so I’ll put an “action” sequence of the winch cleaning up on this page.

Original hosting provider breaks my old website

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
