Restful Night

I slept through the night and saw that I got just over 2 hours of “deep” sleep according to my Fitbit. I usually get about half that, or less; and still feel rested. So, I think my body finally started catching up in the calm waters of the lagoon last night and I feel very rested today.

The business conferences went well, and I got a lot of work completed today. I’ll blame that on my sleep!

After completing my daily regimen in the office at 14:00 I realized it was getting a bit close to pick up my items at the airport by 15:00. Getting there by bus would take a while, and things there tend to work on “Island Time” so I might have to leave the facility empty-handed. They have longer hours tomorrow, so I’ll pick up my 3 packages then.

The winds have died down and it is hot belowdecks, but I really should start to clean up and prepare for the passage to Antigua. The major mess is the cylinder block in the guest cabin, and I can’t finish that until I get the parts; but the jetsam and flotsam in the main cabin could be packed away – if I can find the energy to do so.

The Swiss boat that had usurped my anchoring spot was waiting for their dinghy to be repaired and I recalled that they had two kids aboard. Since I didn’t need my dinghy for a while, I chose to loan it to them so that they could get ashore. They gladly accepted but returned it early since their dinghy had been repaired and they wanted to exit on the 4PM bridge.

I really do need to change location, as I’m right on the edge of the channel. I was working on the computer when a loud noise brought me up to the cockpit, where the megayacht was no more than 10 feet from my stern and lifting up the anchor it had used to med-moor. I motored forward a boat length to give them some manoeuvring room.

Once they departed, I quickly raised my chain and anchor and took back that prime spot of real estate.

I didn’t get to the Soggy Dollar until happy hour was well underway, but the bar wasn’t particularly busy today.

I had neglected to thaw out my dinner, so I had a small pizza across the road from the SDB and returned home early. Tuesdays are Salsa Nights at the bar, and the loud music wafted over to me all night long.
