Breakfast

Today was a beach and rest day. It started at breakfast with a nice omelette and coffee. I then returned to the room to see about getting a room in Carriacou as well as transportation there. This is proving to be a bit difficult, as next week is Independence Day and the islands are very busy.
Daytime

I had to reflect that it isn’t uncommon to see people walking around carrying a well-used machete unsheathed in their hand. And that it doesn’t warrant a second look. Imagine that happening in the USA or Europe!
I walked around the beach a bit and went for a dip, then had a local Grenadian roti for lunch. Each island has its own version of the roti sandwich and this one was excellent.
Dinner

I had several drinks prior to dinner, finishing my book at the same time as completing my small dinner (a salad). Then I relaxed and spoke with some of the other guests prior to returning to the room. I searched some more for a place to stay on Carriacou – in the worst case I’ll sleep on the boat on the hard.
