Morning
We were back at “Windward” for Antigua Sailing Week Day 3. Meeting up in the morning, provisioning and departing the dock went well. There are some technical issues with the boat. This includes badly leaking toilets – which will have to get addressed by the charter company during our lay day tomorrow.
Once again the foredeck crew was an oiled machine in picking up and attaching our mooring and bridle assembly and we got set up in good time for the first race of the day.
10:00 Starts
The first issue happened when a line streaming from the start pin got caught in Tribe‘s keel and rudder. By the time they sorted that out the mark had drifted and it took a long time to reset it into the correct position. But once that was done we could proceed with our starts.
Afternoon
We only started 2 races for all the classes and then sat back to watch the beautiful racing yachts and smaller boats zip by. They all make my boat look like a slow and ponderous behemoth.
Once again we got to the docks first; our finish boat had to remain out there on station and the committee boat “B” had to do both the starts and finishes so were stuck out at Rendezvous for a long time. Antigua Sailing Week Day 3 has come to an end for us.
Evening
After resting, hydrating and watching the prizegiving ceremonies we opted to try the new Mexican restaurant, Los Cabrones, close by. While the food was OK, none of us were overwhelmed by either the food or the service, so we won’t be trying that again this trip.
