The night was so calm that I could hear the ticking of my mechanical alarm clock. What a difference from just a few days ago. The weather prognosis is for the same light winds and wonderful conditions to persist for several days. I’d like to head to the BVI now that I have my sail, but will most likely remain here for a couple more days. The generator still needs some TLC from a professional. And I really need to complete my shopping list for items from the USA before departing. It is going to be very long day at the office on Friday.

Luckily there are few conference calls at work on Friday. As befits a large German insurance company on a Friday the office is only sparsely occupied in the afternoon. That gives me a chance to finally catch up on some activities that I’d not gotten to during the week.
Noon and Afternoon
While I don’t talk about my actual work, today I’ll make an exception and comment that I spent hours looking for programs that use a database TimeStamp datatype without the correct 6 digits of microsecond precision. Then I got to check whether the unstructured data (from XML Excel) could be ingested with the new version of the software.

I’m not feeling my best at the moment, so I am going to remain aboard tonight. I’ve thawed out some minced meat and am cooking it in some tomato sauce. It will form the basis of a simple pasta dish for later. I think I’ll lounge in the cockpit, watch the sunset and perhaps watch a movie on the computer.

Tomorrow I’ll enlist Mark and Marjorie to help me get the genoa from the deck and furled aloft, ready for action.
Sunset
A cloud obscured the sunset over the end of the runway at the airport, but it was still a pretty event. The tomato sauce is bubbling away and I’m ready to make some capellini pasta for a quick and easy dinner. I’ve been reading that the new John Wick 4 movie is supposed to be better than the 3 previous ones and haven’t seen John Wick Chapter 3, so I might do that tonight. After dinner.
Dinner was bland and boring, as I can’t find fresh spices in the galley and I’m out of Parmesan. But it was filling and I only managed to watch the introduction to the movie before deciding to retire.
