Morning
I woke up early so that I could join the Tuesday morning “Stand-Up” department conference call. Much to my dismay, I joined the meeting only to see that it had been rescheduled. It had been set to to one hour earlier, so I missed it. As I’d already made my coffee, I continued on and worked through the morning. A visit to Ile Tintamarre was on the plan for the afternoon.
Noon
I picked up Suzy and Dan at the dinghy dock in Grand Case. After giving them the penny tour of Zanshin we weighed anchor and motorsailed to Ile Tintamarre. The weather was excellent with little to no waves and a very light wind.
We weren’t the only ones to take advantage of the good conditions and all the mooring balls were taken. We anchored outside of the moorings in sand with good holding.
Suzy took over the galley and we had a fantastic light lunch with a Caprese salad and various cheeses, cold cuts and Pate. I’d saved a collection of blues and old Rock ‘n Roll to my iPod and those tunes accompanied us all day.
Afternoon
Beaching the dinghy in the slight swell was a piece of cake and we walked the beach and went snorkeling at the rocks on the northern end of the beach. Despite lots of boats, there were only a handful of people actually on the beach – a big difference to the crowds often seen at popular locations such as Orient Bay Beach.
We returned to Grand Case to anchor just as the sun was setting and instead of our planned steak BBQ meal we continued ploughing our way through the remainder of the cold cuts and cheeses while sipping on wine and beer. The steaks will just have to wait for another day.
Esther and Lincoln had arrived from the BVI that day and although I didn’t see movement on their catamaran I knew that Lincoln would be chafing at the bit to get to play with his Starlink RV satellite system, which was still safely stowed aboard my boat. I zipped across to them to deliver it in person.
I returned Suzy and Dan to the Grand Case dinghy dock and they drove home while I returned to Zanshin.
