D-Day (Departure Day) today.

I woke up early and managed to do some work, after energizing myself with coffee. Sandra and Sascha had to pack their bags for departure day, and I used the time to dinghy ashore. I walked back to the Europcar rental agency and picked up our car. On the drive back, I detoured to get some baguettes, pain au chocolat and croissants.

I had a conference call from 11:00 to 12:00 and when that was finished we took the luggage, laundry and some garbage ashore in 2 trips. We detoured to Hope Estate so that Sandra and Sascha could get some shirts at the Love Shop. We found a parking space right in front of the store but as we opened the car doors the store’s steel shutters descended! Sascha knocked on them and I was surprised that they went back up. The owners said that they don’t normally close for lunch, but that they had an appointment; but our shopping spree was quick and timely.

I dropped off the laundry, then picked up a second Starlink at DHL (for a friend) before heading to the SYMC.

Since their adventure had started at the St. Martin Yacht Club, we decided to complete the circle and end it there as well. We had a final drink and some lunch before I dropped them off at the airport.

I couldn’t wait the 2 hours at the Driftwood Bar, so I finished off some tasks and errands before heading there.

alone in over 2 weeks. On this departure day Sandra and Sascha were already hundreds of miles to the east. I wasn’t tired and the book was exciting, and I couldn’t put it down until midnight.

Evening

I returned to Grand Case and managed to find a parking spot close to the dinghy dock. Returning aboard, I made a sandwich and settled down to my first night
