2016 Trip 2016-04-27

Ahhh, “Lay Day” – a day of sailing and culinary debauchery at Green Island! Angela, Stephen, David, Linda and myself took off from Falmouth on a spirited upwind sail to the anchorage at Green Island with Stephen at the helm for the majority of the trip and we only had to tack twice to make it there and got to see a number of our course marks on the way. Once there I was surprised to see that all of the moorings were taken but we snuck past two boats and anchored close to the shoreline in just a couple of feet of water (under the keel, of course) and proceeded to deplete our stocks of bubbly, wine and beer. The paddle board got a workout as we all tested our balance, I had the unfair advantage of having had practice. A number of the competitors in our class were in the anchorage as well, but they departed earlier than we expected and by the time we’d eaten our steaks, salad, sausages and had our frozen grape dessert all of the racers had already departed.

Our sail back was fast, comfortable and this year we managed to return right at dusk rather than enter Falmouth in the dark. It was a relaxing and fun day and we all recharged the batteries for the last days of the Antigua Sailing Week.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
