2015 Trip 2015-05-07

Reality intruded on life in paradise today, with much of my time spent in front of the computer taking care of various tasks, attempting a conference call with a spotty internet connection and listening in on a technical presentation from IBM regarding new features in a product which I hope to be able to use sometime. I only dinghied about a bit and took few interesting pictures, all of which disappeared when I deleted the contents of the memory card before copying it into my Lightroom software. I’m going to have to get a sunset picture so that there’s something to put up on today’s page!

My only effort of note was to go around the hull and scrape off barnaclettes growing around the waterline and within an arm’s length of the surface. Those two week in Falmouth let the little buggers get a hold on the boat again, and if the conditions are quiet tomorrow I’ll don the dive gear and give the hull another good scrape from the bottom of the keel to the waterline and from the bow to the stern. Those barnacles are living proof that rust isn’t the only thing that never sleeps…

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
