I ended up doing more than I thought today, mainly because I can’t sit or lie down without a spasm of nerve fire running up my spine. So I got out the Prism polish and continued on the stainless in the aft portion of the cockit, I’d only cleaned those sections where the bimini would go in order to keep that from getting stained, now I attacked the rest of the rust on the frame. All those screws and Allen screws that keep the bimini together were a bit rusted and loose, the rust has been removed, Lanocote applied and the whole thing tightened.
I moved Zanshin back to Prickly Pear in order to take advantage of the island’s windcover and the better internet access. On the way over I almost lost the dinghy outboard engine, those bolts are still frozen and the engine is attached using just gravity. I to put the big boat in neutral and jump aboard the dinghy to rescure the outbloard, which was hanging off the back by the safety cord I’d attached.
I took 2 aspirin this morning and that didn’t seem to do much, but since ringing the happy hour bell at 17:30 I’ve had 4 Red Stripe and those seem to be doing pretty, particularly on an empty stomach. I’ve decided against grilling on the BBQ and am making simple spaghetti with some fresh mushrooms and onions, before the former go bad, and I’ll fry up some spicy Italian sausage to complement the tomato sauce. With the heavy meal and Red Stripes I hope to fall asleep and let the body take care of itself and let me sleep tonight.
The genset is running to charge the batteries, make water, let me run the clothes washer to get some clean T-Shirts and to run the stovetop; although the full cycle of the washing machine is 3 hours including the drying cycle and I don’t think I’ll run the genset that long – perhaps about halfway and then I’ll hang up the clothing to let it air-dry the rest of the way.

2013 Trip 2013-02-07
My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.
Every. Single. Page.
So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.
The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
