What a wonderfully lazy day& the perfect initial vacation day for me and the noticeable switch from “The Real World” to “Island Time”. I didn’t weigh anchor, not even to relocate to Leverick Bay in order to say hi to my friend Nicks, Monika or Michael (Beans, the Happy Arr Show). I got the watermaker running again, the filters were black from deposits and I replaced them all and cleaned the strainer. Then I ran the generator to charge the batteries, did a load of dishes in the dishwasher and then spent the rest of the day doing just about nothing – using the internet to download songs for my stereo system, going into chat on Sailnet and trying not to gloat about being in the warm sun while the other denizens of that chat chamber are in inches of snow but not doing too good a job of it.
The BBQ is clogged up, so I fixed that problem and cleaned up the grille; but that was the extent of work I did all day. It looks like a rainy night, so I’ll grill the second thawed steak on the barbie along with some potatoes and the meagre rest of my salad, then stay below decks and perhaps watch a movie and just be happy to be both alive and in paradise.
Difficult decisions for dinner – after a happy hour Carib and then a Presidente (accidentally opened) I need to choose between a bottle of Rioja which I cannot finish or to take another Caribbean beverage… This is the toughest decision of the whole day – what a wonderful quandary.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.
Every. Single. Page.
So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.
The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
