Arnd

The wind and waves picked up once I started to cross the 50nm stretch of the Gulf Stream. I would say the waves were disorganized and the sailing would be smooth until two or three waves joined up as a team and whacked the side of the boat, cause some spray but also a significant heel. Since the wind was directly behind me and I did not want to go forward to rig a preventer, I had short sails and the engine running – but this meant that the boat would roll both ways. All in all only one of my glasses broke in the wash cycle so it wasn’t that bad. I’m now in the water on the far side of the gulf stream at 12:00 local time but the winds have picked up to 20 knots and there’s still a good swell running so I won’t be making any hot food for a bit since even the gimballed stove has it’s limits.

In the end hunger won out and I used attachments to fix a pot on the stove and made 2 Bratwürste with a microwaved potato for dinner.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
