Arnd

Departing was a piece of cake with the boat moving out of my way as promised and I passed the collection of mega yachts and mega racers just after sunrise. The wind was perfectly awful for my intended route to Guadeloupe via Antigua for an overnight stop using my “Right of Innocent Passage” (sort of). But both of those destinations were almost dead upwind as there was a strong trade wind from the southwest rather than from the normal west or west northwest. So soon after it was certain that the wind direction I was seeing wasn’t a momentary aberration, I changed my plans and sailed toward the northern tip of St. Kitts to get out of the biggish waves and continue onwards to Pinney’s Beach off Nevis. That wind angle was good and I made good time until rounding the corner, where the wind direction changed and I spent most of the afternoon tacking offshore to get to the anchorage in time for sunset.

After taking a mooring off Sunshine’s Bar I relaxed and found that I could get internet connectivity so I caught up on my e-mails and thawed out some hot-dogs and hot-dog buns – it was time to break out the relish and mustard for a simple but incredibly calorific dinner.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
