Arnd

I woke up far too early this morning, most likely what triggered this was the music finally shutting off sometime between 04:00 and 05:00 – it must have gotten too quiet to continue sleeping. I opted to work on the computer a bit, finally writing the program to automatically generate the Google image sitemap file. I also found the SD memory card with the picture from my most recent Safety at Sea training and created the web page with pictures (I’d used the wrong camera settings, so the pictures didn’t turn out as well as they could have). All of this was done because I was procrastinating going to Carrefour for my big shopping trip to provision the boat. But in the early afternoon I couldn’t postpone it any longer and managed to fill up the larder with items from my shopping list, leaving the cruising kitty $300 shorter. I’ll have to go again tomorrow or the day after to get the items I missed and those which won’t keep for more than a couple of days aboard.

I met Mark at Buccaneer’s and we spoke with other cruisers for a bit before heading up to an Indian restaurant called Shiv Shakti for a tasty and savoury Indian meal.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
