After a slow morning aboard, I finally got the energy up to go shopping; a task I don’t really relish. I had a rather long list of items and started by driving into Marigot and the hardware store there. After that I hit the VW/Audi store (for engine oil and coolant) with no luck, then Ace Hardware and thereafter a new auto parts store and finally Napa, which had my 0W-30 engine oil. A flyby at Budget marine and Island Waterworld later, I hit Electec and Lagoonies before hitting the jackpot at the cash-and-carry with their plastic bottles of San Pellegrino drinking water. I took a bit of a breather and then did my provisioning at Cost-U-Less and Grand Marché in Philipsburg. My credit card ran pretty hot during those last two stops but I believe it has cooled down by now and not melted!
It took 4 trips between the car and the dock to get all my purchases unloaded and it was a pretty good workout – especially the 30 liters of water! After everything was aboard it took quite a while to figure out where to store all my acquisitions and I put my newly delivered vacuum sealer to good use with all the nuts and pasta that I’d gotten.
Head wounds bleed profusely. While rearranging the storage space under the floorboards in the galley I slipped and knocked my head, and the resulting bloodshed made the area look like an abattoir! A bit of painful disinfectant and a bandage got me sorted out.
