I took a comfortable sail from Diamond Cay to Peter Island, timing my arrival to be around 14:00 (which, according to their web site is the earliest one can check-in). The entrance was narrow but not a problem and I shouldn’t have been surprised to see a number of our Jeanneau group already at the docks. I got to dock alongside which made it quite easy, but there was quite a bit of surge and it took me a long time to set up the forward/aft springs and bow/stern lines to my satisfaction and I debated leaving again and anchoring instead. I did get water at the dock and washed the boat down, mainly to get the salt off the topsides where all of my fenders were getting a serious workout in the surge. The surge kept up the whole afternoon and the night; Serenity even broke a line and ended up doubling up all the lines to avoid it happening again.
The final dinner was a great affair, the service and food at Peter was excellent and all of the participants ended up getting some pirate booty. I joked about the nice tropical Helly Henson foulies on the table and, much to my surprise, my name was pulled from the bucket for exactly the item I’d coveted! After dinner I headed to the bar for a glass of wine and then off to bed.
