Malcolm and I had a leisurely morning, doing a good amount of damage to my supplies of Espresso and foamed milk. We then motored to the Bitter End and took a mooring, going ashore to say hello to our fellow Jeanneau sailors and arranging for me to join the test sail planned in the early afternoon. We had a tasty lunch at The Fat Virgin Café and I returned to the docks to get aboard the Jeanneau 64 while Malcolm repaired to the bar.
An interested prospective purchaser was flying in from California for the day with the express intent of taking Serenity out for a test sail and I was fortunate enough to be able to go along. I’d been toying with the idea of upgrading to the 64 and am glad that I got the opportunity to sail aboard. I’ve come to the conclusion that the 64 is just too much boat for me and is most certainly “overkill”. But it was an exhilarating sail in mild winds and the boat speed was impressive indeed.
Malcolm and I ended up hearing Michael Beans’ show and then going upstairs for yet another tasty meal at Leverick Bay.
