While today was not a workday at “the office” it was a workday aboard Zanshin and I got a lot of cleaning, laundry and general maintenance work done during the course of the day. Since I was anchored close to Prickly Pear Island and the winds had died a bit, I got the odd fly aboard and finally broke out some fly strips I’d purchased a couple of years back. They hadn’t held up all that well in storage and were not only discolored but I actually watched a fly walk across a portion of one (and it later tried to repeat that feat on a part of the strip which was still sticky, and perished).
I did finally finish honing my 3 razor blades aboard – the 2 Dovo blades are stainless (hint – “less” still means rust) and the one Wacker Jungmeister 8/8 Spanish head one isn’t, and it had indeed gotten several rust blemishes that I’ll have to figure out how to remove; at least the cutting edges weren’t affected. It turns out that I didn’t take any other pictures today, so I’ll post more than I should, compensating for the missing pictures over the past couple of days.
