There was a total lunar eclipse this night and I woke up a 3AM to see it. While I got a photo of this Blood Moon as the press is labelling it, as it sounds more interesting than a mere lunar eclipse; the total eclipse makes the moon’s colour look reddish to brown for the duration but I didn’t hang around on deck to see the eclipse end. I tried to get a picture of it but I knew that the only way to get a good shot was to go ashore and use a tripod and I certainly wasn’t going to do that in the early hours of the morning.
Today is a very hot day, not because of the temperatures but because the winds have died down; here in Deshaies we are back winded a bit, but the winds aren’t strong enough to make an appreciable cooling breeze. I am doing a couple of chores aboard and am looking forward to a walk ashore later this afternoon, hopefully underneath the cooling canopy of the forest.
The walk was very nice and despite no winds under the canopy it was cool and refreshing. After the walk and a warm shower I dropped by for a quick hello and goodbye on Katzenellenbogen as they wanted to leave for Antigua early the next morning and I was in no such hurry and wanted to remain here another day or two.
