2013 Trip 2013-02-10

Today was a busy one& I’d invited Malcolm along with some guests of his, Sheila and Paul from North Carolina to do a day sail to Jost van Dyke and we began our trip at 10am with relatively light winds from aft and anchored (then took a mooring ball) off Sandy Cay, which I hadn’t been to in a long time. While Malcolm remained aboard to guard our liquor supplies from marauding charter boat guests, the three of us took the path around the island and, upon our return, we sailed to Foxy’s Taboo for a very tasty lunchtime snack before sailing along the shores of Jost van Dyke until we were abeam of the Soggy Dollar bar before beating back upwind in slightly boisterous conditions (but reefed sails) to Cane Garden Bay. While Malcolm returned home to pick up Candace for the Elmtones show at 7pm, Sheila, Paul and I remained aboard to see a nice sunset off St. Thomas before we, too, repaired to the show.
The band had an additional instrument this evening, a saxophone which I felt really completed their band and I think that the crowd (which filled every table) thought so as well and during the second set few seats were left full during the songs (I was an exception, but I do still have that back injury…).

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
