Today’s weather was much better than the day before and after going ashore to clear out (it turns out we don’t need to clear out of St. Martin for St. Barths, but do need to clear in there) and have breakfast, we prepared the boat for Wolfgang’s first sail. The wind conditions were light and the swell was down so the sail was a calm one with no stress as we tacked upwind in order to reach our destination, Anse Marcel. After we finally reached that anchorage and proceeded to drop anchor we realized that the swell was sideways to the boat and quite uncomfortable so we weighed anchor again and sailed back downwind to Grand Case, where we’d stopped for a quick lunch earlier in the day. Instead of making our steaks aboard we opted to sample the fine cuisine ashore and had a tasty dinner along the main strip prior to heading back to the boat for postprandial drinks and a deep sleep.
