We set off a bit late from Trellis, due mainly to our activities of the night before, and motorsailed to Salt Island and took a mooring ball at the site of the wreck of the RMS Rhone, a national park in the BVI and the most popular dive site here. After setting up, we started to descend but unfortunately Nat couldn’t equalize pressure with her ears and had to return to the boat; this was unfortunate for her but very lucky for me as I was able to use her full tank instead of my half-full one.
We dove the wreck twice, the shallow stern section and the deep bow section (missing the actual body of the boat, but we’ll do that next time) and for most of the time we were the only ones at the site. Afterwards it was off to The Bight on Norman Island and a short visit to the Willie T’s but the music and crowd wasn’t to our liking so we returned to the boat for a tasty dinner cooked by Rob and Nat (I did the washing up part by placing the dirty dishes into the dishwasher) and a relatively early night.
