All I can say is that I’m amazed by the size of Zanshin – so much bigger in real life than I’d remembered and I don’t know yet if I’ve bitten off more than I can comfortably sail. I’ll post pictures of the boat in due time, taken in better weather and once I know what angles to show. The crew at Bay Yacht Agency had prepped and cleaned the boat and all was in order, apart from the issues with shore power. The boat uses European 220V and the marina had no appropriate outlets which could be used. But I could run the genset to charge the batteries and the weather wasn’t really cold so that was hopefully not going to cause any problems.
I had though that Chris was joking when he said that the items I’d ordered had filled up a whole room in their offices but when I saw the packages stacked high I realized that he was being (semi) serious. A lot of the “stuff” was in fact not mine, but belonged to Carmen and Bernd, my friends and crew who own Mau in the Caribbean and had used the opportunity to do a lot of online purchasing.
