Sunrise

The distant, faint sounds of the Out-Out celebrations last night barely registered, and I got a long, uninterrupted sleep, waking up with the sun.
I’ve got a lot to take care of today, but instead of starting my chores, I’m being lazy, drinking coffee, checking out the news (which is rather depressing these days), and updating my website.

I’ve got an e-SIM with 15 GB of data, and a full day at work with several video calls chews up about 1 GB; days like today, with no video, are much lighter on data. Nonetheless, I’m trying to be frugal with my internet usage, and sometimes I can even get a WiFi signal from the marina, but once the sun is up, the connection just fades away.
Cleaning
I bought some bleach yesterday, but I cannot locate my nitrile gloves. Since it is hard to get rid of the chlorine smell, I’ll hold off on using Clorox until I get some gloves from Epicurean down the road.

The other cleaning solution is less aggressive and smells of citrus, so that will be my first round of cleaning. Then comes some vacuuming and stuffing the inventory away into nooks and crannies.

One of the zippers has corroded heavily, and I can’t get it to budge. Rather than risk tearing it out by using too much force, I’ve given it a spritz of PB Blaster and am letting it penetrate. Hopefully, that will do the trick.
Water Leak

I still have a water leak around the mast due to a loose mast boot seal, and this storage season it really did cause some damage. One of the floorboards that supports the mast is wooden and has collapsed. I used an “L”-shaped aluminum section as a stopgap measure until I can locate the correctly sized wooden replacement.
Galley

I did the dishes and dried them, then cleaned up my morning coffee-making mess and finally cleaned the counters in the galley. That should be enough for the moment. Next comes the forward cabin. If I wait too long, it will be too hot forward, as I’ve only got the main cabin A/C running at the moment.
Happy and Unhappy Hours
I joined Mike for a happy hour beer and snack at the Fat Urchin ashore. I snuck through the shipyard in the dark and encountered something far more solid than expected with my foot.

I thought I’d stubbed my toe and limped towards the boat, telling myself that wearing light sandals in a boatyard is just a stupid idea. Once aboard, I saw that the damage was somewhat worse, and I was bleeding all over the boat. I’d ripped off a toenail and cut the bottom of my foot, and, after stemming the bleeding, saw that my toe was swelling up. I’ve either sprained it (again) or broken it (again)!
